Doctor Mahmoud suffers from epilepsy, so he refuses to marry any girl so as not to be a reason for her suffering. He meets Mervat, who is attracted to his money and gets close to him, but she distances herself from him when she learns of his illness. The doctor decides to travel to the city of Suez, where he meets the innocent girl Laila, who reveals that she is accused of killing her mother, so Mahmoud searches for the origin of the story.
