Lars Laumann

Lars Laumann studied at the North Norwegian Art and Film School in Kabelvåg, Norway, from 1993-1995 and at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, Norway, 1995-2001. Since then the artist has been based in Brussels and Berlin, devoting his time to a nomadic artistic endeavor with a global scope. Fandom, obsession, objectophilia, and love, both romantic and divine, have all formed part of Laumann's ongoing project, exploring people and phenomena that exist on the margins of contemporary society. By sampling and reediting, he creates works that take form as installations or videos. Mixing different media and techniques, he creates idiosyncratical worlds, that are at times absurd and unsettling revelations of our collective modern mythologies.
