Dr. S. Mahesh

Gurukkal Dr. S. Mahesh is celebrated as an Indian Martial arts Guru, often revered as a “Warrior Monk,” dedicated to the ancient Indian martial art of Kalaripayattu . As the fifth-generation master in a 130-year-old lineage, he upholds the rich tradition of Kalaripayattu and Siddha systems. Gurukkal’s approach blends tradition with innovation, making Kalaripayattu accessible to a global audience while preserving its original essence. He is making his directorial debut with the historical film Kaaliyan.
