Samuel Urbina

Samuel Urbina is a Peruvian film director. Born in Piura, he studied audiovisual communication at the University of Piura, where he made his first films. At 23 he moved to London to attend the London Film Academy. Two years later, he began his master's studies at the Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya in Barcelona. His short films have been screened at numerous film festivals in Peru and abroad. Man (2018) won the award for best Peruvian film at the FACIUNI Film Festival, followed by numerous screenings at other festivals. Samuel is currently developing his first feature film.
