BIOGRAPHY

Jack Lewis Faggart known as Sonny "Roughhouse" Fargo, was an American professional wrestler and referee. He was born in North Carolina and made his debut in 1950. Faggart gained fame for his appearances in NWA Mid-America during the 1960s and 1970s, where he wrestled alongside his brother Jackie Fargo and others as The Fabulous Fargos. Throughout his career, he adopted characters like The Masked Rebel and Roughhouse Fargo, an eccentric and wild wrestler who would lose control in the ring. In addition to wrestling, he also worked as a referee, and his wrestling style was known for his unpredictable behavior and finishing moves like the atomic drop. He retired in 1984 but continued working as a referee for promotions like Jim Crockett Promotions. Faggart passed away on August 20, 2008, at the age of 80, after suffering health complications due to diabetes. He was posthumously inducted into the NWA Wrestling Legends Hall of Heroes in 2009.
