The four groomers are given one of the most popular breeds to grace British salons - the long-haired shih tzu.

This week's four dog groomers tackle a pack of Alaskan Malamutes. Next, they give some fluffy puppies their first ever grown-up haircut, to be revealed in front of their proud owners on the Dogwalk.

Four ace groomers try to create a tricky spiral pattern in the coats of English cocker spaniels.

The cute-as-a-button Pomeranian is the breed of choice in the final heat as four groomers try to achieve the perfect pom-pom shape using just a pair of scissors.

The first set of quarter-finalists take on a very traditional dog groom when they gently hand-strip one of the UK’s oldest breeds, the Welsh terrier.

The final set of quarter-finalists turn some scruffy but adorable bichon frisés into beautifully shaped white clouds, then trim their dogs’ coats to create an homage to a place close their hearts.

In the semi-final, the last four competitors groom lamb-like Bedlington terriers. The groomers must also identify the parent breeds of a number of crossbreeds.

The three finalists execute one of the toughest challenges in the industry – a continental clip on an elegant standard poodle.
