OVERVIEW

The Fifth Cycle of Australia's Next Top Model was an Australian reality television program which was broadcast on the Australian subscription television channel, FOX8. The cycle premiered on 28 April 2009. Auditions were held during October and November 2008 across Australia. Supermodel and television personality Sarah Murdoch took over as host for this cycle, replacing Jodhi Meares, who resigned from hosting duties after cycle four finished. The competition was won by Tahnee Atkinson who defeated Cassi Van Den Dungen in the final.

4. Runway Hell

In an effort to make the girls take things more seriously after their walking lesson, Sarah sends the girls on an early, and unglamourous, runway assignment. Tensions grow in the house, before a shocking elimination is dealt.

5. Diamonds and the Desert

This week the girls are put to the test on a farm shoot with a nasty stylist and some squealing pigs. The models then take part in an icy challenge, before a stunning desert shoot.

6. Cruising the Catwalk

A challenging lesson in fashion sees the girls' knowledge of fashion put to the test. After a teary reunion for the girls, they strut their stuff on a luxury liner for some fashion A-listers.

7. Media Virgins

This week, the girls don air hostess uniforms before being given a media lesson that's as funny as it is disastrous! A physical photo shoot will leave some girls breathless, before another elimination is dealt.
